Welcome To Besimcha

A Non Profit Organization That Provides Hope for Families

Be’Simcha was born out of compassion, vision, and tireless dedication of our founder, Michal Sayas. Born and raised in Haifa, Israel,
Michal was brought up in a home that prioritized the need to help those who couldn’t always help themselves.
In 2013, in honor of her mother, Simcha Koobi, Michal decided to start the non-profit Be’Simcha.
Since then, Be’Simcha has been a force for good, continuing the legacy of Michal’s mother and helping spread compassion and hope to people across our community.

About Besimcha

Passionate Group of Dedicated Individuals Will Change the World

Becoming a force for good doesn’t happen overnight. It occurs when you take the very first step — offering a hand, or a glove or a backpack to those in desperate need of compassion, hope and support. At Be’Simcha, we believe that by providing care and aid to impoverished Israeli American families in our community, that we are raising future generations to continue our good works in the world , and giving them a reason to smile.

What We Do

We know that a good education is the launching point for success for our children, and every day we take steps to ensure that our youngest people have the foundation they need for the future. This includes raising funds for outreach efforts to hundreds of families and individuals in need with educational and life-sustaining resources. We have supplied:

We know that a successful future for these families begins with providing the building blocks that they need for a happy, fruitful and fulfilled life and we are committed to doing everything we can to make that possible. We organize a variety of fundraisers each year, and are able to sustain operations from the bounty provided by generous individuals as well as the hard work of our founders and leaders — all of whom are Volunteers. This spirit of giving flows through each of our lives, and helps us continue to offer encouragement and love to those in need.

Our Mission

At Be’Simcha, we are passionately dedicated to providing care and aid to impoverished Israeli American families in our community, giving them a hope for the future and a reason to smile.

Since the fall of 2013, Be’Simcha’s outreach efforts have helped hundreds of families and individuals in need. Today, we want to grow our efforts even more and are working tirelessly toward providing economically deprived families with both the resources they need to get back on their feet and the small pleasures in life they need to keep their spirits high.

What are the things you do every day?

You wake up, eat, go to work, come home, have dinner, perhaps enjoy some free time, and tuck yourself in. Sure, life has its challenges but overall, you are blessed.

At Be’Simcha, every day we are helping people just like you share your good fortune with other families. These are mainly single mothers in need in the impoverished Israeli – American community who need a taste of hope with children who can benefit from a reason to smile. What some may take for granted, so many others could benefit. Would you please help?

A Large portion of what we do is assisting these families through crisis situations. It may be keeping their electric on, helping them with a rent payment or assisting them with needed dental care. We help make sure children have clothing and are taken care of after school. Each year, Be’Simcha fills backpacks with required supplies and we personally deliver them to the school of families in need. We are building self-esteem, encouraging education, and helping economically deprived families pull themselves up by reaching out but we need your help.

Since the fall of 2013, Be’Simcha’s outreach efforts have helped hundreds of families and individuals in need. Today, we are working to grow our efforts in helping even more of these families and individuals who can so greatly benefit from just some help to get back on their feet. We simply can’t do it without you.

Are you looking for your chance to make a difference in the life of a child or family?

How Can You Help?

Even the smallest donation sends us a message

Few things help us achieve our goals more than the volunteer help of others. At Be’Simcha, we are in constant need of people who are able to volunteer to provide tutoring services, drive buses, provide meals, and even provide hairdressing services. Most of all, we need financial aid.  We require the help of others, perhaps just like you.

Even the smallest donation sends us a message that you care. Can you please help propel us in our mission? Make a secure online donation with PayPal by clicking on the button below. The amount is not as important as your support. Thank you in advance. Each member of our team is so very grateful.

Providing Emergency Financial Help

A big part of Be’Simcha’s mission is providing emergency financial aid to those in need. To date, we have provided funds to help families pay for:

Electric Bills
Car Insurance
Car Payments
Dental Care
After School Activates for the kids
Hot lunch
Shabbat food
Holiday gift baskets
Hebrew school

Providing School Supplies to Impoverished Children
Each year, Be’Simcha is sent a list of school supplies that children need based on their grade-level. We then fill backpacks with these supplies and personally deliver them to the school. Nothing is more important to these children than a good education, and at Be’Simcha we are doing everything we can to make that possible.

Setting up Holidays & Celebrations

In Halloween of 2016, Be’Simcha went to Budlong Ave. Elementary School in Inglewood, a city where it is not safe enough for the kids to go out and trick-or-treat. We brought with us 300 goody bags filled with candy to pass out to each student at the school. These kids were so excited to be able to participate in the festivities of the holiday, and the smiles we saw on their face were worth more than gold.

Sponsored Fieldtrips

Be’Simcha took a sponsored bus and picked up 54 low-income children as well as their guardians. We provided breakfast on the bus and drove them all to Disneyland. Seeing the joy and excitement on their faces when they saw Disneyland for the very first time was one of the biggest rewards we’ve had so far at Be’Simcha.

Organizing Fundraisers

Organizing fundraisers is a big part of what we do at Be’Simcha. To date, we have organized the following fundraisers to raise money for Jewish families in need:
